Search “vapt training online” from India and every result is a course page. Not one of them is a guide to choosing between them.
So on 29 September 2026 we opened all of them and pulled out the four numbers that actually decide whether an online VAPT course works: how many live hours you get, whether a practice lab comes with it, who teaches it, and what is promised in writing about placement. The published teaching time alone runs from 14 hours to 120 hours. Two of the eight providers do not publish a price at all.
That is an 8.6-fold difference in instruction hiding behind one phrase. And the variable that matters most online — the lab — is the one nobody states in comparable terms. One provider tells you to build your own. One bundles an instance for a year. One does not mention it.
This page is the buyer’s guide that SERP is missing. Every figure below was read on the day of publication, is attributed, and is checkable. Where a number is a market estimate rather than a fact, it says so.
What Should You Look For in Online VAPT Training?
Check four things before you pay: the number of live instructor hours, whether a practice lab is included or you must build it, whether the trainer is named, and what the provider promises in writing about placement. Across Google’s first page on 29 September 2026, published teaching time for online VAPT training ranged from 14 hours to 120 hours.
Those four checks are not arbitrary. They are the four places where online delivery can quietly go wrong in a way classroom delivery cannot. Hours go missing because a recorded course counts video minutes as “training”. Labs go missing because nobody has to hand you a machine. Trainers go missing because you never meet the person whose name is on the brochure. And placement language goes soft because it is easier to write “100% placement assistance” in a title tag than to explain what assistance means.
The short version: online VAPT training is a good way to learn and a poor way to be sold to. Ask for hours, lab, trainer and outcome in writing before any payment. Every provider below answers at least one of those four questions on its public page — not one answers all four.
How Many Hours Does Online VAPT Training Actually Run?
Published teaching time for online VAPT training in India runs from 14 hours to 120 hours, an 8.6-fold spread under one phrase. Reading every page-one result on 29 September 2026: Udemy lists 14 hours of lectures, MindMajix and GoLogica both list 40 hours, Isha Training Solutions lists 50-plus live hours, and Hacker School lists 120-plus.
Hours are not quality on their own. A well-taught 40 hours beats a padded 120. But hours are the one input you can compare across providers before you have met anyone, and the spread here is too wide to be about teaching style. It is about what the word “training” is being made to cover — recorded video in one case, four evenings a week for ten weeks in another.
| Provider (page one, 29 Sep 2026) | Published hours | Format as published | Lab as published |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hacker School | 120+ hrs | Instructor-led live; next batch advertised 30 Nov 26, Mon–Thu 6:30–9:30 PM IST | Students “receive instructions from the trainer to set up their own lab” |
| Isha Training Solutions | 50+ hrs live | Live, Mon–Fri 8–9 PM IST; lifetime access to recordings | “Real-time labs” — no provisioning detail published |
| MindMajix | 40 hrs | “20 hours of theory” + “20 hours of hands-on training”; live or self-paced | Free VAPT instance; 1-year LMS access |
| GoLogica | 40 hrs | Online / self-paced / corporate; sessions recorded to LMS | Not mentioned on the page |
| Udemy (page-one listing) | 14 hrs | Recorded, self-paced | Not applicable — no live lab |
| CDG Training | Not published | Self-paced certificate course | Not published |
Do one conversion before you compare anything. Turn the total into hours per week and weeks. Hacker School’s advertised batch is four evenings a week at three hours each, so 120 hours is about ten weeks. Isha’s is one hour a night, Monday to Friday, so 50 hours is also about ten weeks. Same calendar, less than half the instruction. That difference is invisible until you do the arithmetic.
What Does Online VAPT Training Cost Per Live Hour?
Cost per live instructor hour is the only number that compares two online VAPT courses fairly, and only two page-one providers publish both figures. On 29 September 2026 Hacker School worked out at roughly ₹208 per live hour and Isha Training Solutions at roughly ₹198, while GoLogica advertised 40 hours and no price at all.
The calculation is simple and worth doing before every enquiry call. Hacker School published ₹25,000 plus GST for 120-plus hours. Isha published ₹9,900, discounted from ₹25,000, for 50-plus hours. MindMajix published $440 for its live 40-hour track and $160 for the self-paced version, which is about $11 per live hour. Two headline prices that look four times apart end up within five per cent of each other per hour taught.
| Provider | Published price | Published hours | Per live hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Isha Training Solutions | ₹9,900 (from ₹25,000) | 50+ live | ≈ ₹198 |
| Hacker School | ₹25,000 + GST | 120+ live | ≈ ₹208 |
| MindMajix (live) | $440 | 40 | ≈ $11 |
| MindMajix (self-paced) | $160 | 40 (recorded) | ≈ $4 — not live |
| GoLogica | “Get Price” — none published | 40 | Uncomputable |
A price without an hour count next to it is not a price, it is a number. If a provider will not give you both, you cannot compare it to anything, and that is usually the point. We went through the same exercise for classroom programmes in our breakdown of VAPT and ethical hacking course fees in Hyderabad.
Does Online VAPT Training Include a Lab?
Often it does not, and no page-one provider states lab provisioning in comparable terms. Hacker School tells students they will “receive instructions from the trainer to set up their own lab”. MindMajix includes a free VAPT instance with one year of LMS access. GoLogica’s page does not mention lab access at all.
In a classroom this question does not arise. You walk in, the machines are there, and if your virtual machine will not boot someone fixes it in front of you. Online, the lab becomes your problem the moment nobody says otherwise. That is not a scandal — building your own lab is a genuinely useful skill and the first module of any serious programme covers it. It only becomes a problem when you discover it in week two, on a laptop with 8 GB of RAM, alone.
There are three honest models, and any of them is fine as long as the provider names which one it uses. The provider hosts a lab you connect to. The provider gives you a guided build on your own machine. Or you subscribe to a third-party platform and the course tells you which rooms to do and when. The failure mode is the fourth option: the page says “real-time labs” and nothing else, and you find out on day one.
Ask: hosted, guided or bring-your-own?
Three legitimate answers. “Real-time labs” is not one of them. Get the answer before you pay, in the same message as the fee.
Ask: for how long after the course ends?
MindMajix publishes one year of LMS access. Most pages publish nothing. Practice does not stop on the last day of class.
Ask: what does my laptop need?
A VAPT lab runs an attacker machine and a target at once. Plan for 16 GB of RAM, an SSD, and virtualisation enabled in BIOS.
Ask: what am I allowed to test?
Only systems you own or have written authorisation for. Any course that is vague about this is teaching you a habit that ends careers.
What Does Your Own Practice Lab Cost?
If the course does not provide a lab, budget for one: TryHackMe’s free tier gives free rooms only, caps the browser AttackBox at one hour a day, and excludes networks and personal hackable instances. Premium was €10.50 a month billed annually when we read the TryHackMe pricing page on 29 September 2026.
One hour a day is the number to sit with. Recon on a single target can eat that before you have opened a scanner. It is enough to follow along with a tutorial and not enough to get stuck, which is where the learning actually happens. The paid tier removes the cap and unlocks the network rooms, which are the ones that resemble an enterprise environment.
None of this is a reason to avoid an online course. It is a reason to add the line to your budget, because a course fee plus twelve months of lab access is the real cost of learning this online, and only one number of the two usually appears on a landing page.
Ask about the lab in the demo, not after
Book a Free Live Demo Session — online or at KPHB 5th Phase, Kukatpally. Sixty minutes with the instructor. Ask who provides the lab, for how long, and what your laptop needs. No payment required.
Is There a Free VAPT Course Available?
Yes, free VAPT material exists on YouTube, Udemy’s free previews and TryHackMe’s free rooms, and it is genuinely useful for concepts and tool syntax. What free material cannot give you is a person checking your method, a reviewer marking your report, or an interview. On 29 September 2026 TryHackMe’s free plan capped lab time at one hour a day.
Use the free tier properly and it will save you money rather than replace the course. Spend a month on networking, Linux and the OWASP Top 10 before you enrol anywhere. You will then be able to judge a demo session on its content instead of its confidence, and you will not spend the first four weeks of a paid programme catching up. Our guide to starting a VAPT course with zero experience lays that month out week by week.
How Do You Get a VAPT Certification?
There is no exam called VAPT, so you certify through a vendor: EC-Council’s CEH, OffSec’s OSCP, INE’s eJPT or TCM Security’s PNPT. An online course prepares you for one of those and issues its own certificate of completion. EC-Council places CEH Master in a tier expecting more than two years of networking knowledge.
That last detail is worth knowing before you buy a beginner course marketed as CEH preparation. EC-Council’s own VAPT career path sorts its certifications into tiers, and the Core tier that holds CEH Master is labelled “More than 2 years Networking Knowledge”. Its Foundational tier is the one marked “No Experience Required”. The vendor is telling you the order; the marketing around the vendor often is not.
Two costs follow from this. The course fee is one. The exam voucher is another, it is paid to the vendor, and no institute can include it unless it says so explicitly. We compared the four realistic exam routes and what each one suits in our guide to the best VAPT certifications for 2026.
Who certifies what
EC-Council, OffSec, INE and CompTIA are certification bodies. AimNxt is an independent training provider that prepares you for their exams and issues its own AimNxt certificate of completion. We are not affiliated with any of those vendors and do not issue their credentials.
Is VAPT a Good Career in India?
Yes, by volume: Naukri listed 5,984 VAPT vacancies across India on 29 September 2026, with 1,830 of them filed under IT and Information Security. The honest caveat is the entry gate — in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, 534 VAPT listings were open, but only 55 of them sat in the ₹0–3 lakh band.
Read those two numbers together and the market becomes legible. Demand is real and it is not concentrated at the bottom. In Hyderabad the ₹6–10 lakh band held 300 listings and the ₹10–15 lakh band held 255, against 55 in the lowest band. This is a market that pays once you are in and does not have many doors at the entrance, which is exactly why the portfolio and the report matter more here than the certificate.

| Hybrid | 161 | 48 |
| Remote | 130 (2.2%) | 6 (1.1%) |

Can You Actually Work Remotely as a VAPT Analyst in India?
Mostly no, and this is the fact online course pages leave out. Of 5,984 VAPT vacancies on Naukri on 29 September 2026, 5,693 were work from office, 161 hybrid and only 130 remote — 2.2 per cent. In Hyderabad the remote count was six out of 534, or 1.1 per cent.
This is not an argument against learning online. It is an argument against the implied promise. Online training is about how you learn, not where you will work, and a course page that blurs the two is selling you a lifestyle it does not control. Penetration testing touches client data and scoped internal networks, and most Indian employers still want that happening from an office.
What it does change is what you should optimise for. If ninety-eight per cent of the roles are on-site, then proximity to a hiring market matters, and so does whether your training provider has one. That is the practical case for a hybrid route: learn online when it suits your week, use the classroom at KPHB when you want someone looking over your shoulder, and be physically near the employers who are hiring.
Can You Learn Cyber Security in 3 Months?
You can learn one branch of it in three months, not the field. Three months of live online VAPT training at 12 hours a week is about 150 hours, which covers networking, Linux, web technologies, recon, scanning and basic exploitation. Active Directory, cloud, mobile and report writing need the months after that.
The three-month claim is popular because it is nearly true and completely unhelpful. Cyber security is not one subject — VAPT, SOC operations, GRC and identity are different jobs with different daily work. Three focused months will make you competent in the first half of one of them. Pretending otherwise is how people arrive at interviews able to run a scanner and unable to explain a finding.
If defensive work interests you more than offensive, that is a different route with a different market, and we mapped it in the SOC Analyst L1 & L2 programme rather than here.
Which Tools Should an Online VAPT Course Cover?
A credible online VAPT course teaches at least twelve tools inside the modules that use them: Kali Linux, Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nessus, OpenVAS, Hashcat, John The Ripper, SQLMap, Gobuster and Amass. Ask where each tool appears in the syllabus, because a tool list without a module map is marketing.
A tool list is the easiest thing in the world to publish and the easiest to fake. The useful question is not “do you teach Burp Suite” but “in which module, after which prerequisite, and what do I produce with it”. Burp Suite belongs after HTTP and web application architecture, not in week one. Metasploit belongs after you can find a service worth exploiting. We ranked the tools by how often Hyderabad employers actually name them in our breakdown of the VAPT tools that matter.

Tick every statement the course you are looking at can satisfy in writing. The checker scores it out of twelve, names the weakest of four areas — hours, lab, trainer and outcome — and gives a verdict. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere; with JavaScript off the twelve checks still read as a plain list.

What Does the AimNxt VAPT & Ethical Hacking Programme Cover?
The AimNxt VAPT and Ethical Hacking programme runs four months across fifteen sequenced modules, opening with Networking Fundamentals & Lab Setup and closing with Report Writing & Professional Skills, then a Capstone Project. It is delivered online, offline at KPHB 5th Phase in Kukatpally, or hybrid, with the same module list either way.
We publish the full list because order is the thing you should be comparing, and because the tables above showed how little most providers disclose. Every name below is copied exactly from the programme curriculum, including the tools taught inside each module.
| # | Module (exact name) | What it puts in your hands |

| — | Capstone Project | A complete engagement: reconnaissance and target mapping, vulnerability identification, exploitation and privilege escalation, post-exploitation, then a professional report and presentation |
Two things in that list answer questions the rest of this page raised. Module 01 is lab setup, so the “who provides the lab” question is answered in week one rather than discovered in week two. Module 15 is report writing as a full module rather than a closing lecture, which is the artefact a client actually reads. Learners taking the four-month VAPT & Ethical Hacking programme in Hyderabad online get the same fifteen modules and the same capstone as the classroom batch at KPHB.
What the Job Interview Guarantee program is, exactly
The AimNxt Job Interview Guarantee program guarantees interview opportunities through the hiring-partner network — not a job offer, not a placement, and not a salary. Whether you convert an interview depends on your skills, your reports and your performance on the day. Given that 480 of the 534 Hyderabad VAPT listings on Naukri were work from office, being near that hiring network is worth more than it looks from a course page.
What Should You Ask Before You Pay?
Ask six questions in the demo: how many live instructor hours, who teaches them, is a lab included and for how long, are sessions recorded, what exactly is promised about placement, and is the total fee inclusive of GST. Get the answers in writing, not in a phone call.
Every one of those six is a question a good provider answers in a sentence and a weak one answers with a brochure. You are not being difficult by asking. You are doing the thing the page-one SERP made necessary by publishing eight course pages and no comparable numbers.
| Ask this | A good answer sounds like | Walk away if |
|---|---|---|
| How many live instructor hours? | A number, plus hours per week and the batch timings | You get weeks or months and no hour count |
| Who teaches it? | A name, their background, and a demo with that person | “Industry expert” and nothing else |
| Is a lab included, and for how long? | Hosted, guided or bring-your-own — stated, with a duration | “Real-time labs” with no detail |
| Are sessions recorded? | Yes or no, and how long you keep access | Recording policy changes after you pay |
| What is promised about placement? | Interview opportunities, resume and mock-interview support | “100% placement” or a guaranteed salary |
| Is the fee inclusive of GST, and is any exam voucher bundled? | A total, in writing, with the voucher position stated | The number moves between the call and the invoice |
Bring your scorecard to a demo session and ask the trainer to fill the gaps in it. Sixty minutes and no payment will tell you more about a course than any amount of reading, including this page.
