Of all the questions a prospective CCNA candidate asks us at the KPHB counter, this is the one with the most misinformation attached to it. Students arrive having read three or four articles, convinced the Cisco exam will cost them around ₹25,000. Then they open the Pearson VUE checkout and the number is nearly ₹10,000 higher, and the first thing they feel is that somebody misled them.
Somebody did, though not deliberately. The pages ranking for this search were written months ago, converted US$300 at whatever the rupee was doing then, and left out a tax that Pearson VUE has been charging Indian candidates since 2017. One of them, dated 16 July 2026, still prints ₹24,500 to ₹26,000. Another, updated 14 May 2026, settles on ₹26,500.
So here is the arithmetic, with both sources named and the rate dated. We also checked what the exam costs relative to training in Hyderabad, read Cisco’s own retake policy rather than paraphrasing it, and looked at the version deadline sitting four months away that not one page-one result mentions.
How much does the CCNA exam cost in India in 2026?
The CCNA 200-301 exam costs US$300 plus tax, which for a candidate testing in India means US$354 after 18% India GST, or about ₹34,115 at 96.3704 rupees to the dollar on 7 October 2026. That is one attempt, paid to Cisco through Pearson VUE, and it covers no training, no books and no lab.
| Step | Figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Cisco associate-level exam price | US$300, plus tax | cisco.com exam pricing FAQ, read 7 Oct 2026 |
| India GST added at checkout | 18% | Pearson VUE India GST FAQ, in force since 1 Jul 2017 |
| Checkout total in dollars | US$354 | 300 × 1.18 |
| USD/INR rate used | 96.3704 | Market rate, 7 Oct 2026 |
| One attempt, rupees | ₹34,115 | 354 × 96.3704 |
| Two attempts, if you fail once | ₹68,230 | Cisco charges full price per attempt |
Your card statement will differ by a few hundred rupees depending on the rate your bank applies on the day and any foreign-transaction markup. Treat ₹34,115 as the floor, not the ceiling.
Why does ₹34,115 differ from the ₹25,000 figure on most pages?
Two compounding errors: an old dollar rate and an omitted 18% GST. A page that converted US$300 at 83 rupees and stopped there lands near ₹25,000 and feels right. Add the four rupees the dollar has gained and the tax Pearson VUE charges, and the same exam is ₹34,115 — a 29% understatement on the figure ranking first.
This is not a nitpick about rounding. It is the difference between a student who budgets correctly and one who reaches checkout short of money. Here is what page one of the India query was publishing when we read it on 7 October 2026, against the figure our arithmetic produces.
| Page-one source | Dated | Exam fee it publishes | Understated by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cisco Systems (official exam page) | Live | US$300 or Cisco Learning Credits | Correct, but pre-tax and in dollars |
| iCertGlobal | 16 Jul 2026 | ₹24,500–₹26,000 | ₹8,115–₹9,615 |
| Networkz Systems — stated as “including tax” | 22 Jan 2026 | ₹25,000–₹30,000 | ₹4,115–₹9,115 |
| UniNets — stated as including taxes | 25 Aug 2025 | ₹25,000–₹30,000 | ₹4,115–₹9,115 |
| Networkers Home | 14 May 2026 | ≈ ₹26,500 | ₹7,615 |
| This page | 7 Oct 2026 | ₹34,115 | — |
The strangest version of the error is Google’s own. When we expanded the People Also Ask question “How much does a CCNA test cost?” on 7 October 2026, the generated answer said, in a single sentence: “India: Approximately ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 INR (The standard $300 base fee plus an 18% mandatory GST brings the checkout total to $354 USD).” Both halves cannot be true. US$354 at that day’s rate is ₹34,115. The dollar figure it calculated itself is right; the rupee range it inherited from the pages it was citing is wrong.
Watch for the word “including”
Two page-one results describe their ₹25,000–₹30,000 range as already including tax. Cisco’s own pricing FAQ lists every level — entry US$125, associate US$300, professional US$400 core and US$300 concentration, expert US$450 written and US$1,600 lab — and attaches the words “plus tax” to all of them. Tax sits on top. A quoted rupee figure that is below US$300 at today’s rate cannot be tax-inclusive.
Does GST apply to the CCNA exam fee in India?
Yes. Pearson VUE charges 18% India GST on business-to-consumer sales to candidates sitting tests in India, a policy in force for every booking made on or after 1 July 2017. GST is added at checkout rather than built into the US$300 headline, and it is not refunded if you fail.
One nuance matters if your employer is paying. Pearson VUE’s own GST FAQ states that GST is not charged on sales made to businesses in India, with the reverse-charge mechanism applying to registered business customers instead. So a company booking against its GSTIN handles the tax differently from a student paying with a personal card. If your organisation is sponsoring the attempt, ask whoever raises the purchase order which route they are using before you budget for it yourself.
What does the CCNA exam fee actually buy you?
One 120-minute attempt at Implementing and Administering Cisco Solutions (200-301 CCNA) v1.1, delivered in English or Japanese through Pearson VUE, either at a test centre or online with a proctor. Nothing else. No study guide, no practice test, no lab access, and no second chance if the score falls short.
That is worth stating plainly because the phrase “CCNA cost” gets used for two completely different things. The Cisco exam fee is a fixed, non-negotiable charge paid to a certification body. Training fees are a separate, highly variable charge paid to an institute. One page-one result quotes “the average CCNA fee in India” as ₹7,000 to ₹15,000, which is its own course price, not the exam. Keeping the two apart is the single most useful thing you can do before you start comparing anything.
If you want the full topic list that US$300 is testing you on, we published a domain-by-domain breakdown of the CCNA 200-301 syllabus and its exam weights with both v1.1 and v2.0 side by side.
How much does a CCNA retake cost in India?
A retake costs the full ₹34,115 again, because Cisco sells attempts rather than passes. Its exam policy also imposes a wait: candidates who fail an associate-level exam must wait five calendar days, beginning the day after the failed attempt, before they may retest the same exam number.
Budget for this honestly. If you book the attempt before you are ready and fail, your CCNA has cost ₹68,230 before you have earned anything. That is more than most Hyderabad training programmes charge for several months of instruction, which is why we tell students at the demo to delay the booking until they are passing full-length practice exams rather than to book early as motivation.
Two more policy details worth knowing. If you pass and later want to retake the same associate-level exam number, Cisco requires a minimum 180-day wait. And the no-show and cancellation rules on lab exams are harsher still — full payment forfeited, with a 30-day block on rescheduling — so build the habit of treating a booked slot as money already spent.
Should you book CCNA v1.1 now or wait for v2.0 in February 2027?
Book now if you are within a few months of being ready. Cisco published the CCNA v2.0 exam topics on 20 May 2026, v2.0 goes live on 3 February 2027, and 200-301 v1.1 is testable only until 2 February 2027. A CCNA earned under v1.1 is a full CCNA, valid for three years, and nothing about it expires early.
We flagged this on the syllabus post and it is worth repeating here because it affects money, not just study plans. Not one page-one result for “ccna exam cost in india” mentions the version change at all. If you are six months from ready, you will be sitting v2.0 whether you intend to or not, and the five-domain v2.0 blueprint is a different weighting from the six-domain v1.1 one — so buying a v1.1-aligned course bundle in late 2026 is a decision worth making deliberately.
| If you are… | What to do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Already passing practice exams | Book v1.1 now | You keep the blueprint you studied and avoid re-learning weightings |
| Two to four months out | Book v1.1, slot before 2 Feb 2027 | Still comfortably inside the v1.1 window |
| Starting from zero today | Study toward v2.0 | A 180-hour programme will land you past the February cut-off anyway |
| Buying course material now | Ask which version it covers | v2.0 is five domains, not six; troubleshooting is weighted far heavier |
Whichever side of the date you fall on, the price is the same. Cisco has not announced a different fee for v2.0, and the US$300 associate-level figure has been stable through the v1.0 and v1.1 generations.
What does CCNA training cost in Hyderabad, and why is it less than the exam?
Published CCNA course fees in Hyderabad clustered between ₹8,000 and ₹24,000 when we read page one on 7 October 2026, which means the single Cisco exam attempt at ₹34,115 costs more than most of the training on offer. Almost nobody searching this term expects that, and no page-one result points it out.
Here is what Hyderabad providers were publishing that day. We are quoting their figures, not endorsing them, and AimNxt does not publish fees in blog posts — we talk about money in the demo, where we can tell you what is and is not included.
| Hyderabad provider | Published course fee | Dated |
|---|---|---|
| NG Cloud Networks | ₹8,000–₹20,000 | 30 Jul 2026 |
| FITA Academy | ₹10,000 | Live listing |
| Network Kings | ₹18,000–₹20,000 | 15 Jul 2022 — four years stale, still page one |
| Infibee Technologies | ₹18,999–₹23,999 | Live listing |
| Networkers Home (Hyderabad live online) | ₹22,000–₹40,000 | 14 May 2026 |
| Laimoon aggregator | ₹9,615–₹3,65,356 | 4 Oct 2026 — a 38× spread, which tells you the aggregator is guessing |
| Cisco exam, one attempt | ₹34,115 | 7 Oct 2026, GST included |
Two things follow from this table. First, if a course costs a third of the exam, ask what it contains — a ₹10,000 programme is not buying you 180 hours of instruction on real equipment, and the lab is usually where the difference sits. Second, since the exam is the bigger line item, the thing to optimise is your probability of passing first time, not the training price. Paying ₹8,000 less for a course and then failing a ₹34,115 attempt is a bad trade.
That is the reasoning behind how we structure the CCNA and CCNP networking course in Hyderabad at our KPHB 5th Phase campus: 180 hours including lab hours, on physical routers, switches, next-generation firewalls and wireless LAN controllers rather than a simulator, because the configuration confidence that gets you through a 120-minute exam is built on hardware, not on reading. We go through the fee structure, batch options and what the Cisco voucher will cost you separately, in the demo.

What are the hidden costs beyond the CCNA exam voucher?
Beyond the ₹34,115 attempt, a realistic CCNA budget adds study material, practice exams and lab access, which together run from nothing to roughly ₹25,000 depending on how much you buy. Cisco Packet Tracer is free. Official Cisco Press guides, commercial practice exams and paid lab sandboxes are not.
Official study guides
Cisco Press official cert guides typically run US$40 to US$90 each, so roughly ₹3,900 to ₹8,700. Optional, but the single most common purchase.
Practice exams
Commercial mock-exam engines run around US$75 to US$150, about ₹7,200 to ₹14,500. Worth it, because they are what tell you to stop delaying the booking.
Lab access
Cisco Packet Tracer is free. Paid sandboxes and virtual lab subscriptions are not. Physical equipment is why most learners pick a classroom programme instead.
Card and FX charges
Paying a dollar-denominated fee on an Indian card usually adds a foreign-transaction markup of a percent or two. Not large, but not zero either.
The retake you hope not to need
₹34,115 again, after a five-day wait. The honest way to budget a first attempt is to make the retake unnecessary rather than to save for it.
Recertification in three years
CCNA is valid for three years. Renewal means another exam or Cisco continuing-education credits, so the ₹34,115 is a three-year cost, not a once-ever one.
What will the CCNA actually cost you? Work out your own number
Change the exchange rate, the number of attempts you are budgeting for and the material you intend to buy, and this calculator rebuilds your total in rupees. It starts from Cisco’s US$300 associate-level fee and the 18% India GST Pearson VUE adds, then shows every line so you can see which one is the big one.
CCNA Real Budget Calculator
Cisco’s fee is fixed in dollars; your total is not. Adjust the four inputs below and watch which line actually dominates.
Estimates only. The exam line uses Cisco’s published US$300 associate fee and Pearson VUE’s 18% India GST; material costs are typical market prices converted to rupees, not quotations. AimNxt does not publish course fees online — we discuss them in the Free Live Demo Session.
Can you get the CCNA exam cheaper, or for free?
No, the 200-301 attempt is never free, but there are three legitimate ways to reduce what you pay. Cisco accepts Cisco Learning Credits in place of cash, sells exam vouchers for associate-level exams through its own store, and runs periodic promotions. Everything outside those channels deserves suspicion.
What is real, and what is not
The genuine saving is not on the voucher. It is on the number of attempts. One pass at ₹34,115 beats a discounted voucher plus a retake every time.
Is ₹34,115 worth it? What Hyderabad hiring data says
On 7 October 2026 Naukri listed 651 CCNA-related vacancies in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, of which 54 were open to candidates with zero years of experience. That is 8.3%. The certification is clearly priced into the market, but the fresher funnel is narrow, which is the honest answer to the worth-it question.
Here is the full read from that search, taken the same day as the exchange rate above.
| Naukri filter, Hyderabad / Secunderabad, 7 Oct 2026 | Listings | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| All “ccna” listings | 651 | A real, active market — this is not a dead certification |
| Engineering — Hardware & Networks | 372 | The majority sit in the networking department, as you would hope |
| IT & Information Security | 110 | CCNA is also read as a security prerequisite |
| Work from office | 614 | Only 3 listings were remote. Networking is a hands-on, on-site job |
| Open to 0 years | 54 | 8.3% of the market. Of those, only 19 were in the IT Network role category and 3 were unpaid stipends |
| Salary band ₹0–3 L | 136 | Entry Where most fresher adverts sit |
| Salary band ₹3–6 L | 299 | Early career The largest single band |
| Salary band ₹6–10 L | 325 | Experienced Usually two to five years in |
| Salary band ₹10–15 L | 190 | Senior CCNP-level work, not CCNA-level |
Source: Naukri.com search for “ccna” filtered to Hyderabad and Secunderabad, read 7 October 2026. These are advertised salary bands on job listings, which are market estimates and not guarantees — what you are actually offered depends on your experience, the employer, and your interview performance. Listing counts move daily and keyword matching on a job portal is approximate.
The useful way to read that table is as a payback question rather than a worth-it question. At the ₹3–6 L band that 299 listings advertise, one exam attempt is a few weeks of gross salary. That is a reasonable return — provided you are one of the 54, and provided you pass first time. Both of those depend on configuration ability, which is why we keep coming back to lab hours. We looked at the salary question in much more detail, with sources, in our post on CCNA salary in India.
One live advert from that search is worth quoting because it answers the question directly. Gowra Bits & Bytes, hiring a Network Engineer in Hyderabad at 0–5 years, lists under its requirements: “Mandatory: Network CCNA course”. That is an employer stating the certification is a filter, not a nice-to-have.
What does the AimNxt Networking Ignite Programme cover, and what is not included?
The AimNxt Networking Ignite Programme (NIP) runs 180 hours including lab hours across six modules, with one year of LMS access and lab assistance. The Cisco exam fee is not part of it. You pay Cisco directly through Pearson VUE, which is why the ₹34,115 above stays a separate line in your budget.
We are spelling out the module list because “CCNA training” means wildly different things at different price points, and the only way to compare is to compare contents.
| Module | What it covers |
|---|---|
| 01 | Implementing and Administering Cisco Solutions (CCNA) — Network Fundamentals, Network Access, IP Connectivity, IP Services, Security Fundamentals, Automation and Programmability |
| 02 | Implementing and Operating Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies (CCNP — 350-401 ENCOR) — architecture and design, virtualization, infrastructure, network assurance, security, automation |
| 03 | Implementing and Operating of Firewalls (Cisco / Paloalto / Fortigate) |
| 04 | Implementing and Operating Enterprise Wireless Technologies (Cisco / Aruba) |
| 05 | Soft skills / Cultural skills sessions |
| 06 | Mock interview sessions with experts |
Module 1 is the one that maps onto the exam you are paying US$300 for — those six domain names are the CCNA 200-301 blueprint. Modules 2 to 4 take you past it, which matters because, as the Naukri table shows, the ₹6–10 L and ₹10–15 L bands are CCNP-level work. The lab you practise on is eleven items of physical kit: 3 routers, 3 next-generation firewalls, DNAC virtual access, 3 L3 switches, 2 L2 switches, 2 wireless LAN controllers, 3 wireless access points, an AAA server, fibre and Ethernet modules, patch cables and a console cable.
What AimNxt does and does not provide
Cisco is the certification body for CCNA and CCNP; AimNxt is an independent training provider that prepares you for their exams. On completion you receive an AimNxt certificate of completion, which is not a Cisco certification. The AimNxt Job Interview Guarantee program guarantees interview opportunities through our hiring-partner network — it is not a guaranteed job, a guaranteed placement or a guaranteed salary, and outcomes depend on your skills and interview performance. The Cisco exam fee is never included in training and is always paid directly to Cisco.
How do you book the CCNA exam from Hyderabad?
Create a Cisco certification profile, then schedule the 200-301 exam through Pearson VUE, choosing either a Hyderabad test centre or online proctored delivery. Payment is in dollars by card, with the 18% India GST added at checkout, and the slot is confirmed only once the payment clears.
A few practical things we tell students at the KPHB campus before they book. Check your identification matches your Cisco profile name exactly, because a mismatch at the centre ends the attempt. If you choose online proctored delivery, test your room and webcam setup in advance rather than on the morning. And treat the slot as spent money from the moment you book it, because Cisco’s policies on cancellation and no-shows are not forgiving.
Finally, pick the date against the February 2027 deadline. If you book a slot on or before 2 February 2027 you sit 200-301 v1.1. From 3 February 2027 you sit v2.0. Both earn you the same CCNA, but you want to sit the one you studied.

Where these figures come from
Two primary sources carry the cost arithmetic on this page, and both were read on 7 October 2026. Cisco publishes the associate-level exam price as US$300 plus tax on its certification exams page, and Pearson VUE publishes the 18% India GST policy on its own India GST tax FAQ. Everything else on this page is arithmetic on those two numbers.
